The Voice of the Nature of God

MDC beach message

From My Utmost for His Highest

I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: ’Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?’ Then I said, ’Here am I! Send me’Isaiah 6

Sometimes men refuse the call of God because they’re worried that He’ll tell them to go somewhere they don’t want to go. I get that, but it’s the wrong thing to worry about.

In my experience, it’s not that God will ask you to do something you don’t want to do.  He most certainly will.  Count on that. But it’s no cause to worry because . . .

I can be kind of ditzy.  I’ve bought things, paid for them and then walked out of the store without them.  Especially with leftovers.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve left really great leftovers sitting, boxed up and ready to go, on the table in the restaurant.

That’s what Chambers is talking about here.  “The only sign that a person is saved is that he has received something from Jesus Christ.  . . .  [The majority of Christians’] eyes are open, but they have received nothing.”

The something and nothing that Chambers is addressing here is . . .
